How and where to get help & advice
| Information - What to do when someone has died |
Assistance from the Australian Government
The Australian Government's Human Services Department advises that when someone close to you dies, the hospital or other relevant authority normally takes care of the formalities and paperwork for you. You will need a signed Death Certificate to make funeral arrangements. If the person who has died had an insurance policy or a funeral plan, you will need to contact the relevant company to let them know about the death and discuss matters with them.
