Obtaining a Burial Licence

Information - Burial

When you "reserve" or "buy" your plot in a cemetery you are actually obtaining a "Burial Licence".

The Burial Licence entitles you access to a particular burial plot in a cemetery now or in the future.

A Burial Licence can be obtained in a Shoalhaven  cemetery or memorial garden by making an application to the Shoalhaven Bereavement Services office and paying the fee set by the Shoalhaven City Council. The Burial Licence is issued on a certificate, which promises that the plot described will be available exclusively to you or your estate.

A Licence is required before someone can be buried.
